HERE COMES THE SUN.

Sunday nights are so bittersweet.

The mister and I had such a good weekend. Really, I can't imagine a bad fall weekend. But I may be biased by my favorite season. Maybe.

This is what I wore to the corn maze on Saturday. I am pretty obsessed with my sweater. And I was happy to have an excuse to wear my rain boots. It was incredibly muddy after two days of rain ... we really know how to pick our days for outdoor activities :)

she wore: Head to toe Forever 21 :)

 Such sweet fall memories!

Here is to a happy Sunday night ... and the start of a most wonderful week!

CORN MAZE- AMAZE ME.

What a fantastic fall day! I mean, we woke up with the sun shining in, we had two delicious cups of coffee, snuggles, and then we layered on sweaters and jackets and headed out to one of the best places on earth (at least is SW Ohio) Youngs Jersey Dairy.

I have been going to Youngs for good ole fashion fun since I was little, my obsession with Tater Babies only grows more every year- they are the most delicious potato wedge you will ever have. Promise. And lets not forget the crowning glory .... drum roll ... PUMPKIN MILKSHAKE. It is like having cold creamy pumpkin pie in your mouth. I cannot even describe.

Here is a peek at our corn mazing, tater baby eatin', milkshake sippin' kind of an afternoon :)

We answered some questions right that were along the trail so we won a coupon! Yay! :)

I spent my evening cooking chili and baking muffins ... recipes coming soon!

GOOD MORNING.

This morning we were snuggle bunnies on the couch, drinking coffee, planning the day, and cozy-ing up under blankets.

This afternoon we are going to a corn maze, getting pumpkin ice cream and eating the worlds best 'Tater-Babies'. Explanation to come :)

What are your Saturday plans??

TAKE MY HAND.

Today is the most perfect rainy fall day. Its cold (49 degrees!) and right now I am cozy inside with my sweater, blankets, cup o' joe, Mr. Christopher, and Stella Bean.

It hasn't been all cozy and blanket filled for me though. This morning  I had to face one of my worst fears ... scratch that, I had to face what IS my worst fear. I had to have blood work done today. Do you have a fear that just totally cripples you? I will be the first to tell you my fear is INSANELY irrational. I realize that no one has ever died from lab work, I realize that no one has ever been seriously injured from this procedure and that hundreds, probably thousands of people have it done every day. But that does not change the fact that I start crying like a baby and hyperventilating. To the point where the poor lab technician must remind me that I have to breath. Sometimes I forget these things are non-negotiable!

But it always helps to have someone by your side to hold you hand. And then take you out for a delicious breakfast afterwards because you have been fasting for 12 hours and if you don't get a coffee stat it may get ugly! And that's just what the mister did for me, we gorged on pumpkin pancakes (its a food miracle!) french toast and hashbrowns and drank a lot of terrible tasting coffee and things didn't seem so bad anymore.

So thank you dear husband for helping me with my fears and for always being there to hold my hand :)

DIY: QUOTE PAINTING.

I found this idea from the always lovely Elsie from A Beautiful Mess. The mister had some old pieces of college art work that we wanted to re-purpose and this turned out to be the most perfect idea!

Supplies you need: old/new/used canvas or wood panel; Sticker letters (I found mine at Hobby Lobby in the stencil aisle), spray paint, X-acto knife.

STEP ONE: Prep your surface. I painted over the original painting with bright geometric shapes at random. It makes for a fun surprise in the end! Cut our your letters and play with spacing on your surface until you come up with a composition you love.

STEP TWO: Place your letters ... make sure you don't have any air bubbles and that all letters are pressed down completely to avoid any paint bleeding under.

STEP THREE AND FOUR: Spray paint your entire surface and let dry for at least an hour. Then carefully (I suggest using an X-acto knife) begin peeling off your letters.

STEP FIVE: Enjoy your new piece!

*** Note: I did run into a sticky residue issue after I peeled the letters off. However, if you rub the surface with your fingers it comes off sorta of like rubber cement ***

I have been experimenting with this technique some on other projects as well, I definitely be showing them once they are complete... have fun creating!

DEAD LEAVES ON THE DIRTY GROUND.

Why is it that rotting leaves smell so good? Or is it just trickery because fall is just that good at mesmerizing you? Who knows, but I do love a good stomp in the leaves.

Stella Bean, however, does not so much. I thinking the crunching is just a little too intense for the little lady.

This is what I wore for one of our evening walks. I am really into this mucky mustard color. It goes really well with pinks and mints and pumpkins. Thats all it really takes for a color to win me over these days!

she wore: Forever 21 sweater, leggings, aviators; Lauren Conrad for Kohls Fringe boots

Nate started a new venture this week, a new blog that incorporates some of his passions of super heroes and minimates. So, it sounds nerdy ... but its actually pretty cool :) I am really excited to see what he creates!

In other news ... (nice segway huh?)

The bro-in-law Lee Xopher has released his next issue of his indie comic Rock of Pages. Annnnd the mister and I have a cameo, I love it! He is oh so talented and you should probably head over to his site and see more ...

Tomorrow is the halfway mark, this week is already flying by!

MONDAY MONDAY.

It was actually a glorious Monday. Those are the most precious of Mondays and I will try and remember this one for while :)

Oh, you want to know why it was glorious?? Well lets see ... 1. I got to do a really fun task at work. Probably the most fun task I have done in awhile! 2. I got a new curling iron (hurrah!) 3. The mister and I had a tremendous work out. I might actually start liking the gym one of these days :) 4. I am crossing things off my to-do list like a champ 5. The weather was so beautiful and perfect and the weatherman says tomorrow will be cold and rainy and I am actually pretty pleased with this prediction so that I can finally wear sweaters in the appropriate climate.

So ... Glorious.

 she wore: Sweater/Skirt/Ring/Shoes F21; H&M pony scarf
he wore: UO tee; Levi Denim

Glitter Oxfords are awesome.  And so are scarves with ponies on them.

Happy Monday- here is to a good week!
