I love matching makeup to the season. I have been all about warmer, sun-kissed hues now that its August. August just exudes the colors of sunsets and the warmest of summer nights, doesn't it? And by the way, Revlons lip butter is the best thing to happen to your lips since Maybellines Baby Lips!

MAKEUP FAVORITES: MASCARA.

If I could only have one thing in my makeup bag for the rest of forever it would be mascara! I have always been what can only be called a 'mascara junkie'. These are the three you can find on my table right now- Buxom is amazing because it gives a light sheen and adds great lengths to my lashes, Maybellines Mega Plush adds the volume without the clumps and the waterproof is a must for hot days outside and going to the pool. Maybellines Falsies is adds length and volume so its the love child of the other two for sure- layering this mascara on for a date night gives you eyes that 'pow'!

MAKEUP FAVORITES: REVLON.

I am not a makeup snob- if I like it, I will buy it regardless of brand. These are some of my Revlon favorites, all are under $8 and perfectly fabulous!

Just Bitten Kissable Lip stain in Darling- This lip stain goes on purplish and glossy and leaves your lip soft and a berry-ish color as it wears. Its as good as chapstick and has a minty tingle when you apply it- love!


PhotoReady cream blush in Flushed 200- goes on smooth and lasts longer than a powder blush. You can put it on thin for a tint or layer it on for the perfect pinky glow.


Matte Lipstick in Wine Not- I am really excited about dark lipsticks for fall, its so 90's angst-y. I purchased this color last fall and love it for its bold perfect shade of burgundy.


ColorStay Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black- I have been doing liquid cat eye liner since I was in the eighth grade and I have made my way through dozens of brands but I always go back to this one, it has a felt tip for easy control and deposits the perfect amount of color.

Art Deco in Silver Glitter

I have really been into nail art lately! Its fun to experiment with all the different products out there. This past weekend I decided to start with an ombre approach, using different shades of mint polish. To achieve an ombre look, start with your darkets color on your outer nails and work your way to the palest color on your thumb. If you don't have multiple shades of one color, just add white polish! I then used Art Deco's silver glitter to make imperfect glittery tips, sort of like a french manicure. Finish off with a protective clear coat.

BEAUTY: CAVIAR MANICURE.

I am loving this unique manicure right now! Caviar Manicure by the company Ciate, these nails remind me of candy- especially the pink (frosted animal cookies anyone?) You can find the kit for this at Sephora, which I think I would recommend- from the at-home DIYs I have found they don't turn out as well.  I was in Sephora the other day and the sales woman told me only lasts about two days- but I say well worth it- especially for a special occasion!
