I have been nesting for fall this weekend- the inspiration to do this probably wouldn't have been so overwhelming if the temperatures hadn't dropped and we are in full swing for pumpkin spice latte season. We had the most glorious thunderstorm roll through Friday night and when we woke up Saturday morning the air was cool and crisp, leaves had fallen from the trees and it just felt like fall.

One of the most magical times of year.

MUST SEE: BACK TO SCHOOL FLICKS.

I l-o-v-e back to school. I really do. Never mind that work gets more crazy and the commute to said work slows down with all the school bus stops- its so nostalgic! Here are 4 of my favorite movies that get me in the back-to-school state of mind (in no particular order of favoritism) ...

I have always been a fan of youth reads and a Beverly Clearly classic I like to revisit for BTS is The Luckiest Girl. It reminds you of all the excitement for the unknown of the first day of classes. ::sigh:: I know, its crazy how much I reminisce. Anyone else? :)

Tomorrow is Wednesday- our half way mark- I am so excited for the weekend!

Just kidding. The menfolk were 110% times better than the gals but you know what? Fun was had by all anyway! Pops grilled out, we had strawberries with cake and whipped cream and pretty much had an all-American summer night.

It was one jam packed weekend with good food, good company, and great memories. Nate celebrated turning 26 by shaving his beard to chops (!!), having a slew of birthday coupons to cash in (scalp massage, anyone?) and getting his choice of activities and food (Thor and Cheesecake Factory- no complaints here).

HERS AND HIS STYLE: HIS BIRTHDAY!

Today is Nate's 26th Birthday! We have spent the day doing fun things and enjoying the beautiful summer weather.

We are currently somewhere between baking the cake and deciding where to eat dinner so here I am sharing a glimpse of our day...

So much blue in these pictures! It really is a gorgeous day- also super hot. Poor Stella was melting, we ended up in a drive through to get her some ice water. She also was really uncertain of the statues of the children playing, she is so funny when she gets acquainted to objects!

I hope your Sunday was blissful and full of love- we will be enjoying the last of birthday festivities!

LOVE: MARC JACOBS MOUSE FLATS.

I have always loved Marc Jacobs' mouse flat- and I am now loving the jelly version! I am going to guess they aren't all that comfortable (having flashbacks of my jelly shoes when I was a mini fashionista... I do believe they were little mermaid ... and had glitter in them. True story. ) but if someone knows first hand that this is not true and they are actually worth the investment, please let me know! :)

HERS AND HIS STYLE: STREET FAIR.

Is it possible to have a favorite door? Because I pretty much love this door. And it was just by chance we came upon it thanks to some crazy parking situations at the street fair!

Its a hot one out there today! Definitely a day for a dress, and I love this lace one. I see it working in many different ways and look forward to styling it more.

Oh and how could I forget to mention first and foremost?? I got my hair ombre'd! (Is that a word?) I have been going back and forth for like- 6 months on if I wanted to do it or not. I am a rookie at hair dye. As in, have never had my hair dyed unless you count Sun In in the 6th grade- which I don't. Did Sun In make anyone else's hair crunchy? Hmm ...

But anyway, I love it and can't wait to play around with different styles, I definitely like it curled for a softer look.

CELEBRATIONS.

Oh grad parties. At this point, they just make me feel kind of old- I can't believe this year marks 7 years since I was a High Schooler! Today was all about celebrating the little sister, and eating yum food.

The picture of us as youngin's is circa '97-'98... like my roller blades? I was a pretty rad 5th grader.

Hope you had a lovely Sunday- we are finishing our day with a frozen snickers bar and SNL reruns, so addicting!
