HERS AND HIS STYLE.

Three things:
1. I am actually wearing something other head to toe Forever 21! (Gasps all around!) The dress is H&M last season and the bow is H&M this season.
2. There are actually leaves on the ground! and on one of our walks the other day there were leaves blowing off the trees in the breeze- its beginning to look a lot like Autumn. (Still 90 degrees though)
3. I have had the worst headache all day- and a random fact is that when I have headaches I have a crazy sense of smell. All day I have smelled onions and grass. Weird, right? I thought so too.

I am excited for the weekend as always- and am looking forward to dinner tonight with the mister, he just needs to hurry home!

HERS AND HIS STYLE: STRIPES.

Oh Happy Tuesday!

My goals this week: cook at least 4 meals, work on a new photo album, make some time for the pool, celebrate my new promotion with friends and family (yaaaaaayyyy!) and wear little splashes of bling with every outfit.
 she wore: Forever 21
he wore: Target tee; Levi denim

I had known for awhile I was being considered for a promotion at work and today it was made official- its an exciting new change! The mister and I celebrated tonight with some Italian cooking and That 70's Show reruns- doesn't sound like much but it was actually pretty perfect.

A GIRL AND HER PUG.

Happy Friday dear readers, are you as happy as I am?

she wore: Forever 21

I could live in denim shirts. All.The.Time.

And Stella Bean says hello :)

This week I picked up a few new little treasures ....
Those would be some stud earrings to wear on shirt collars (poor and impatient girls way of studding ha!) Delightfully 90's grunge inspired plaid leggings and a faux Ostrich wallet- I love the bold contemporary stripe!

Tomorrow we are having a Nate and Janae day- my favorite kind of day, in all honesty. Running around and doing nothing in particular but enjoying each others company!

I hope you had/have a stellar Friday night!

HERS AND HIS STYLE: CROSS MY HEART, I LOVE YOU.

she wore: Forever 21 tank and skirt; Charming Charlies skull bracelet
he wore: 21Mens tee and denim

YAY FOR WEDNESDAYS! I won't bore you with the blah blah boring details of my week but I will say I am glad to be half way to the weekend :) I wore this outfit on Sunday for the 5 minutes we actually left the house. I am kinda of looking forward to being hermits again this coming weekend- getting things done and feeling accomplished after a long creative dry spell is refreshing.

I am pretty excited about wearing more maxi skirt/ platform boot combos this fall. I love how the midwest experienced a brief fall teaser and now everyone just has autumnal brain :)

But lets not rush the pretty summers end- I still want more pool time!

DIY: DREAMCATCHER JEWELRY DISPLAY.

I love that its practically a given in design these days that items such as shoes, favorite garments, and jewelry are made a part of the decor and not just stowed away in drawers and closets. I have quite an extensive costume jewelry collection and it was about time I made a home for some of my favorite earrings.

What I did: you need 1 extra large embroidery hoop, spray paint, twine, and pretty jewelry to display. The mister was kind enough to spray paint my hoop for me- just separate the hoops and evenly coat the whole thing. Let dry. Tie one end of your twine to the inner hoop and begin wrapping it around- be taught with the string but not so tight you warp the flexible wood. Tie the other end to the hoop when you have created enough twine space for your baubles. Place the larger outer hoop around the inner hoop and tighten. Hang and decorate!

Easy as pie and easy on the eyes!

Happy DIYing!

AUGUST BEAUTY.

 1. Revlon Lip Butter in Cupcake
2. Wet n Wild Perfect Pair eye crayon/eye liner in bronze
3. Loreal Voluminous Million Lashes in Very Black
4.Cover Girl Classic Color blush in Soft Mink
5. Revlon Lip Butter in Creamsicle

I love matching makeup to the season. I have been all about warmer, sun-kissed hues now that its August. August just exudes the colors of sunsets and the warmest of summer nights, doesn't it? And by the way, Revlons lip butter is the best thing to happen to your lips since Maybellines Baby Lips!

STYLE INSPIRATION PT 2.

Kate Moss is one of my style icons. I just love her to bits and pieces. I have purchased/kept every magazine with her on it for like, the past 8 years. She just makes it all look so easy, right?

This book is a really great look into her style mind, from the more famous moments (the star print dress, anyone?) to those paparazzi street shots that speak to her simple fashion sensibility.  No one does a ballerina flat like Kate.

Missed out on Style Inspiration Pt 1?

HERS AND HIS STYLE: THE GRAPHIC TEE.

 she wore: Forever21 tee
he wore: Target Thor tee
lyrics: Queens of the Stoneage

I have a love/hate relationship with graphic tees. Serious phases of collecting and purging. However, the bold typography type I could see keeping around for awhile- especially this one. Its actually quite the happy reminder isn't it? And really fitting for me this week as I have had some moments of self doubt and frustration over my short comings. But we all have those moments and we all see in ourselves what we lack- we just have to remember that for some divine reason its a part of who we are as individuals (thats $1.00 for that impromptu therapy sesh).

Today I swore I would wear nothing but leggings and it felt AH-mazing. I did keep the causal balanced with these too-high-wedge-for-gravel-trekking leopard booties because I like to feel pulled together even if just heading out to the local quarry.  And I finally acquired/wore my 'John Lennon' sunnies- I know these are a great debate amongst the fashion lovers out there but I love them. I always have and there is nothing you can say to change my mind ;)

Pretty excited for tomorrow, another care free day- I am planning on making a ton of pancakes in the morning. I really love a good pancake.
