PULL THIS THREAD AS I WALK AWAY.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

One good thing about working third shift is I get to spend my whole day with with my little family. And I am pretty sure that my coffee drinking habits are getting a little out of hand ... but I am not convinced to change my ways just yet.

Three things I love right now: the color mustard, cozy sweaters, and shorts with tights. The trifecta of fall apparel in my opinion!

she wore: Target Bag; Sweater, Shorts, Tights, Jacket Forever 21.

I have a sleepy puppy on my lap and a husband offering me the prospect of some lunch, this afternoon is shaping up quite nicely!

BUS STOP, BUS GOES, SHE STAYS, LOVE GROWS.

One of my favorite parts of the day is our little trios evening walks. We are soaking up all that we can of this gorgeous fall weather before it turns too cold for us pansies!

I love this retro pin that I purchased on Esty a looong time ago. Sadly I can't remember the name of the shop but if you know, please remind me :)

she wore: head to toe Forever21
he wore: Target Thermal; 21Mens Jacket; Levi Denim; Good ole Chucks

A little bummed because I have to be at work in the hour ... but happy because I am working on a Best of the Week! Such happy memories every week. Its the small things in life, you know?

3 STEP DIY.

Here is a quick 3 step DIY I did today to jazz up one of my notebooks. I l-o-v-e chevron prints! You could do them in multiple colors or keep it simple like I did, either way, super cute!

One Notebook. Painters Tape. Paint. Paint Brush.

Set your tape to your preference. I chose to keep it all about the width of the tape (I just eyeballed it). However, I think it would be adorbs at all different widths too!

Paint away. I had to use 4 coats of white and two of the blue.

Let dry for about a half hour (oh how I love that acrylics were made for impatient peeps like me!)
and then enjoy your new personalized journal! How fun was that??

THE CLOUDS ROLL BY.

Happy Halloweekend!

I am currently waiting on a little DIY to dry (post to come later!) and thought I would share my evening walk ensemble from yester-evening. It was probably a little more eccentric than my 'hood is used to, but what can I say? I like tribal prints and fringed boots.

she wore: Forever 21 clothing; Lauren Conrad for Kohls boots.

Welp- back to painting/picture taking. Stella Bean is snoring on the misters lap, we are jamming to a pretty good ipod mix (hello coldplay and white stripes) and watching the rain clouds roll in.

HAPPY WEEKEND.

Welllll ... I was going to do a 'real' post tonight buuuuttt ... I feel pretty lazy.

So I leave you with the funny story that last night I locked our keys in the car at the gym ... our only set to my car of course ... only to realize we had no phones, money, or apartment keys to save ourselves as they were locked in said car. A lot of running around the neighborhood, dropping in on acquaintances and using their phones to call the friendly local police department, an waiting in 40 degree weather in sweaty t-shirts we got the car opened and are only slightly embarassed to go back to the gym where everyone witnessed the cop car with flashing lights assisting us. It was marvelous :)

Oh and the ironic part? Was holding 'The art of Happiness' by the Dalai Lama the entire time. Talk about a lesson in looking at a difficult situation at a different angle!

MIDWAY.

I am so glad its Wednesday, knowing you are halfway there is almost as rewarding as being at the end! I have a feeling though, that this week is kind of the calm before the storm. The next few weeks are going to be jam packed with work/trips/birthdays/holiday prep. I'ma going to start rolling up my sleeves now!

she wore: sweater/denim/shoes/hat Forever 21; Pony scarf H&M

I couldn't believe had already set at 7 this evening! 'Tis the season!

THROUGH THE MAZE.

This is just a silly little video we put together of us trying to get through the corn maze over the weekend. It took us around 40 minutes to get through there, so here are just the highlights...

HOMEMADE GOODNESS.

This was my first attempt at making anything vegan and I was not disappointed! These muffins turned out so soft and delicious, a new favorite for sure (and they aren't from a box, so 'go me!')

Ingredients:
2 Cups All Purpose Flour
1.5 Teaspoons Baking Soda
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
2 Lemons for Zest
3/4 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Soy Milk
1/3 Cup Conola Oil
1 Tablespoon White Vinegar
1.5 Cups Blueberry (I used frozen given the season)

Preheat oven to 375F. If you aren't using paper lining- lightly grease your pan.

In a medium bowl mix your flour, baking soda, salt, and lemon zest.

In a large bowl mix your sugar, milk, oil, and vinegar. Mix well!

Add your dry ingredients to your wet ingredients in the large bowl. Fold in the blueberries.

Bake for appx. 22min or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Let cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan.

*** Note: For a moment I was kinda bummed that they turned out so hard on the outside even though I watched the bake time carefully. However, after an hour or so they were super moist again. So don't be sad- they soften up!***

Enjoy!

BEST OF THE WEEK.

A weekly tradition in Instagrams.

 Pumpkin muffins and nerdy glasses.
Grilled cheese sandwiches, yummy salads and cook book shopping ... Coolio did not go home with me :) Tempting though ...
IKEA-ing ... and eating lunch in their cafeteria. New love: Elderflower drink. Its amazing.
Our evening walks and enjoying the fall flowers.
The misters new home office and my 'lots o' love pillow'
Old photos that make me smile and terrible coffee made better by 8 creamers and too many splenda packets!
Two words: Pumpkin. Pancakes. And much better tasting coffee made by my mister.
Making fun fall memories and possibly new traditions??
Homemade chili and baking muffins with love :)
