Oh thats right, we have cook ins instead of cook outs :) Call us pansies but we just don't like the heat, or the bugs. So we fired up the George Foreman, baked some fries and I learned that watermelon salad is like the best thing since ... well, watermelon!
3 cups watermelon
3 Tbl. Fresh Mint, torn
1 medium shallot sliced thinly
1/4 cup feta (or more if you are a feta junkie like me!)
White Balsamic Dressing
White Balsamic Dressing:
2 tbl. White Balsamic Vinegar
2 tbl. White Wine Vinegar
1 tsp. Kosher salt
2 tsp. Sugar
1/2 cup Extra Virgin Olive oil
Prepare your salad and set aside while you make your dressing. Toss together right before serving!
(I wish I could remember where I got this recipe and sadly I cannot, my apologies for no source!)
The whole meal was simply delicious and I was happily reminded that sometimes it is fun to cook your own food ha ha
Anymore it seems like everyone tries to make even a small effort to help out the eco system and lessen their carbon footprint. I know the mister and I try to do small things like use totes for groceries, reuse any plastic bags we accumulate for multiple uses, turn out lights and attempt to grow some herbs and add to the green space as much as apartment dwellers can. So when I first heard about Goodbyn products I thought they sounded pretty nifty, seeing as you don't have to use any baggies and your lunch can be self contained, cooled and easily transported! And let me tell you right now I am not being endorsed for this, I just simply like the product ... or the idea of it since mine has yet to get here :) So after putting it on the back burner for a while I finally broke down and bought two, one for each of us and I am pretty excited for their arrival!
This morning I cooked up some pancakes (we ate them too quickly to capture a picture :)) We spent hours photographing pretty new things for the shop, I crafted, we spent time with family and we did a little purging and rearranging (its been a major purge-a-thon round these parts, more details to come) We wrapped up our evening with a short walk and now we are spending time as a little family. Its days like these that make we want to live in Sundays forever.

Yesterday I told Nate that I wished we would get an afternoon thunderstorm on Sunday and my wish was granted! We had a glorious one that lasted quite a few hours, these outfit photos are somewhat gray as a by-product of the storm. But there is actually a hint of coolness in the air which makes me smile :)
I hope from the bottom of my heart that everyone has had such a wonderful Sunday as I have!
So today we added a whole new section to the shop and I am so excited to share them with you :)
Instant Collections is full of some items that I have either 1. had around the house and had started collecting but decided hey, someone else might enjoy these too, or 2. I just happened to stumble upon a great collection of pieces while out and about.
So basically I did the collecting part for you, now you simply get to enjoy them!
It was an easy day around these parts. Nate and I had an afternoon date at the movies to see Captain America and then a late lunch before heading home and deciding to totally rearrange our living/dining area. Basically our dining room is now a photo studio! Not traditional but I think I kind of love it. Certainly makes shop updates a lot easier.
Speaking of shop updates ... watch for one coming soon, we shot some photos today and are hoping for a few more tomorrow (including some of those amazing clothes I mentioned before!)
But anyhoo- this is what I wore for our date- one of three outfits today (yikes) does anyone else go through outfits like that?? Gee I hope its not just me.
she wore: everything f21 with exception of Jessica Simpson Dany platforms
So first time trying the sheer shirt/bra look. At first I felt a bit scandalous as I am typically a modest little mousebut then I realized way more people are walking around with way less on and I felt better.
And is the mister cute in his cap' ensemble?
he wore: 21Men tee; Dickies Shorts; H&M aviators; Vans Skimmers
